'Miami Ink' Stars Opening New Shops
BuddyTV - USA - There's no doubt TLC's reality series, Miami Ink, helped to boost the popularity of Ami James and Chris Nunez's tattoo shop, Love/Hate Tattoo, and now, the boys are in the process of expanding their business, with Nunez announcing in his MySpace that they are opening shops in two new prime locations.

“We are proud to announce that we're in the process of working on two new Love/Hate Tattoo shops,” Nunez posted on his MySpace blog.  “One located in Vegas and one in New York.”

The Miami branch, which is located on 1344 Washington Avenue, is the setting of James and Nunez's reality

'Miami Ink' Star Not Blinded by Fame
BuddyTV - USA - For many, becoming a celebrity means living a more fast-paced and eventful life, but the same cannot be said for Yojiro “Yoji” Harada, a featured tattoo artist on TLC's Miami Ink.  Being stopped in the streets by fans desperate for an autograph has not made Harada more desirous of fame.  In fact, he often shies away from the attention.

Kat Von D Happy to Represent Women and the Tattoo Community
BuddyTV - USA - Since becoming a television celebrity, tattoo artist Kat Von D has come to realize the high price of fame.  Aside from being over-analyzed by viewers and her peers, she also feels the overwhelming responsibility to make others understand her lifestyle.  However, with pain comes pleasure, and Von D says that having the chance to represent women and the tattoo community is one of the best things about being a reality star.

'LA Ink' Premiere Scores High Ratings

BuddyTV - USA - The new TLC series, LA Ink, premiered last Tuesday, averaging 2.9 million total viewers at the 10pm timeslot.  According to The Hollywood Reporter, the number makes the show the most-watched series debut for the cable channel since the premiere of What Not to Wear in January 2003.

The premiere of LA Ink also did better than several recent TLC series premieres, including May's Big Medicine, June's I've Got Nothing to Wear, and July's Hard Shine and Diagnosis X.
