Springer, Maury renewed for three more seasons |
TV Squad - Santa Monica, CA, USA
- That sound you hear is the planet dying, just a little bit.
The syndicated talk shows (and I use that term very, very loosely) Jerry Springer and Maury have been renewed through the 2010 season. Yes, that's right, for three more seasons. Springer will start its 17th season this fall and Maury its 10th.
That means we'll have three more glorious seasons of actors ordinary citizens throwing chairs at each other and wrestling and three more intriguing years of morons ordinary citizens taking paternity tests to see if they're the father of a woman's baby.
I hope you're proud of yourselves watching these | Read More |

TV Close-Up: Jerry Springer |
Bend Weekly - Bend, OR, USA
- "I don't have any talent, and I'm not being modest - I don't sing, I don't dance - so I think many of the contestants on 'America's Got Talent' can relate to me," laughed Jerry Springer, smooth and comfortable in Hollywood.
His strengths as the host of the three-ring circus known as "America's Got Talent" were refined during his 17 years (and counting) in syndication with "The Jerry Springer Show" by instructing security guards to break up the fisticuffs of love triangles composed of obese, tattooed and toothless individuals of all genders.

New host Jerry Springer dishes about NBC's 'America's Got Talent 2' |
Reality TV World - Mansfield, MA, USA
- "There's a lot of diversity," said Springer during a Wednesday conference call with reporters, discussing America's Got Talent's second season hopefuls. "Clearly there are a lot of singers, but boy, there's a whole bunch of other stuff too, from magicians to ventriloquists to jugglers... Some amazing acts frankly. I haven't seen television like this since the old variety shows. That does seem to be the magic of this show. This really is the old-time Ed Sullivan variety show, or when I was a kid, it was The Ted Mack Amateur Hour... It's really kind of neat | Read More |
