| Actress Speaks Out On Elder Abuse
KQCA, My58.com - Sacramento, CA, USA
- Doris Roberts
, an Emmy Award-winning actress from the hit TV series "Everybody Loves Raymond," appeared in Stanislaus County Wednesday to raise awareness about elderly abuse.
"I believe that our golden years should be a bit shinier than they are," Roberts said to a group of elderly residents at the Samaritan Village retirement center in Hughson.
Roberts, 76, said she's never been touched by it personally, but got involved in the cause when she heard how bad the problem was.
"That we can do that to the elderly people in our world, in our country, is shocking," Roberts said.
