Wynonna Opens Up

Great American Country - Nashville, TN, USA - Wynonna Judd opens up to Ladies Home Journal about the arrest of her husband, D.R. Roach, who was indicted on three counts of aggravated sexual assault and battery against a minor under the age of 13.

Married to Roach since 2003, Wy tells the magazine that her first reaction was "disbelief and shock" and she thought, "I am a mother first and foremost."

In a candid interview, the 43-year-old singer says, "I knew what I was getting into and I tried to change it." "I knew that both Roach and I had issues with addiction when I married him. I know my life. I know the people I chose, I know why I chose them and I really thought that I could change people through loving them enough. It doesn't work that way."

"The only thing I can say at this time is I am choosing to reach out and get the help my family and I need, and I'm setting and maintaining healthy boundaries."
