What2Watch: Project Runway Taxis Toward Fashion Week |
Film.com - Seattle, WA, USA - Project Runway took a break last week, as the show works to time its final few episodes for Fashion Week, which is currently taking place. Tonight (Bravo, 10 PM) this most female-friendly of reality shows gets an injection of testosterone when the final six design for the ladies of the WWE.
I was among those who thought this season got off to an iffy start. The designers seemed to be the usual mix of talents and hacks, but except for the flamboyant Christian, the personalities took a long time to establish themselves, and there was no obvious antagonist along the lines of Wendy Pepper. But in time, the season has taken shape, and all of the final six have revealed their own characteristic work habits and personality quirks. The three obvious frontrunners can all be seen as potential winners, but all have also displayed flaws that could send them packing at any time. Christian Siriano is phenomenally talented, but is so arrogant he occasionally zips through the task without second thoughts. Rami Kashou has one style he likes to pound over and over again, even though the judges are beginning to complain about it. Jillian Lewis is high-strung and ambitious to a fault. Fashion Week should be fun, but we have to get through tonight first. And please, do something about Ricky.
America's Next Top Model (CW, 8 PM): Killing time until the tenth cycle begins, we get a recap of cycles one through nine. These reminiscences are always awkward since this show goes to greater lengths than most to deny its first winner ever existed. Of course, anyone who really wants an update on Adrianne Curry can always watch VH1 or pick up Playboy.
