Sports Legends Museum to honor Ripken with 'Great 8 Day' |
Baltimore Business Journal - Baltimore, MD, USA - The Sports Legends Museum will open its doors for free on July 8 as part of a summer celebration of Cal Ripken Jr.'s baseball career.
The Babe Ruth Museum, which oversees the Sports Legends Museum, teamed up with Provident Bank (NASDAQ: PBKS) to hold a "Great 8 Day" with free refreshments and games on July 8 to honor Ripken's induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on July 29. A winner of a free trip to Cooperstown, N.Y. for Ripken's induction will also be selected.
The museum recently opened a new exhibit in June dubbed "Cal Ripken Jr.: Focus On A Hall of Fame Career," which features more than 30 photographs of Ripken throughout his 21-season career taken by longtime Baltimore Orioles photographer Jerry Wachter.
