Sony Unites Adam Sandler and Mitch Albom |
Zap2it.com - USA - Yukmeister Adam Sandler and schmaltzmeister Mitch Albom will join forces for a film sure to leave impressionable viewers giggling and misty-eyed.
There's actually very little info on the project. Variety merely says that Columbia Pictures and Sandler's Happy Madison shingle have snagged the rights to Albom's first feature screenplay.
Formerly best known to sports fans, Albom has reshaped himself into a bestselling author of sentimental fiction and nonfiction alike, writing the bestsellers "Tuesday With Morrie," "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" and "For One More Day."
While Sandler tiptoed into the sentimental realm with this spring's box office disappointment "Reign Over Me," his audience is more comfortable with broad comedies like "The Longest Yard" and the upcoming "I Know Pronounce You Chuck and Larry."
