Shows you just can't miss this week |
Detroit Free Press - On "Family Guy," Brian and Stewie are locked in a bank vault together and must find new ways to deal with each other. We sense the makings of a bloodbath. 9 p.m., Fox.
MONDAY
Celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito guest-stars as himself in an episode of "Castle" that finds our crew investigating the murder of a chef found frozen to death. Brrrr. 10 p.m., ABC.
TUESDAY
"Glee" just keeps getting, well, more gleeful. Tonight, Olivia Newton-John drops by for what sounds like a fun cameo appearance. She performs a version of "Physical" with coach Sue Sylvester. 9 p.m., Fox.
WEDNESDAY
If you're not visiting "Cougar Town" on a regular basis, you're missing one delightfully weird and twisted sitcom. Tonight, Jules and Grayson (Courteney Cox and Josh Hopkins) consider being friends with benefits. Yeah, like that won't blow up in their faces. 9:30 p.m., ABC.
THURSDAY
On "The Office," Michael suspects that his girlfriend (Amy Pietz) is cheating on him, so he asks Dwight to investigate. 9 p.m., NBC.
FRIDAY
It's a rebuilding season in more ways than one for "Friday Night Lights," the extraordinary small-town drama set deep in the heart of Texas. Coach Taylor (Kyle Chandler) finds himself starting from scratch at East Dillon, a high school that is much poorer and more ethnically diverse than the campus where he attained football glory. And the show itself has undergone major changes with an infusion of new young stars replacing old favorites who have moved on. Still, Season 4 (which aired on DirecTV last fall) contains the same kind of engaging characters and big-hearted story lines that made the series a critical darling from the get-go. 8 p.m., NBC.
SATURDAY
Thanks to an impassioned Facebook campaign, our beloved golden girl, Betty White, continues to ride her pop-cultural wave as host of "Saturday Night Live." And talk about a generation gap: Joining the 88-year-old icon as musical guest will be rap star Jay-Z. 11:30 p.m., NBC.
