Seles and Jillette Are Out of Dancing Competition |
eFluxMedia - USA - The first elimination took place on ABC’s show “Dancing with the Stars,” leaving 10 more competitors in the race. Magician Penn Jillette and former tennis champion Monica Seles were the first to be eliminated after two weeks of competition.
Judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli, and the majority of the 40 million viewers of the show all agreed that Seles lacked the dancing skills needed to continue the race.
In her goodbye speech, Seles expressed her admiration for dancing that she acquired in the last weeks.
"I'm a huge fan of dance now, and I look forward to continuing," Seles said, according to E!News.
Seles retired from the world of tennis and is currently involved in programs to counter malnutrition, as a Goodwill Ambassador and Spokesperson for the Intergovernmental Institution for the use of Micro-algae Spirulina against Malnutrition. She is also writing a memoir that is expected to be published in 2009.
