Nigella Lawson's new iPhone cookery app heats up rivalry between celebrity chefs

By Daily Mail Reporter - Nigella Lawson is officially a domestic iGoddess after her first iPhone application soared straight to the top of the charts.

The culinary queen's 'Quick Collection' was ranking as the UK's top-selling lifestyle app for Apple devices,  just hours after it was launched yesterday.

It has heated up competition among the celebrity chefs who are usually  competing for TV airtime and bookshelf space.

However, it is unlikely Essex-born Mr Oliver has lost any sleep over the matter. His cookery app became Apple's top-grossing UK app just days after its October release and has remained in the top five ever since.

Jamie's app features 50 recipes with 90 minutes of video where he shows off some useful kitchen skills. It also has a shopping list feature making it easier to buy those vital ingredients.

And Gordon Ramsay has confirmed he is working on his own cookery app that will be launched this July.

Nigella has since dropped to second but she is still ahead of Jamie Oliver, whose own 20-minute meals app is currently ranking in third.
