Michael Irvin Heading to Fox Sports Radio? |
AOL SPORTS - New York, NY, USA - I noted this week that the induction speech given by Michael Irvin at the Pro Football Hall of Fame was so well received that there's talk that it may have revived Irvin's broadcasting career.
Today the Dallas Morning News is reporting that Irvin is closing in on a deal to join Fox Sports Radio:
Irvin is scheduled to be in Los Angeles this weekend to continue discussions about hosting a nationally-syndicated radio sports talk show.
The talks with the Fox Sports Radio Network have been going on for some time, Irvin said. A spokesperson for one of the network's parent companies, Premiere Radio, confirmed the news. Premiere's star-studded syndicated lineup includes the likes of Jim Rome, Bob Costas, Dr. Laura and Rush Limbaugh.
Irvin, who was fired by ESPN this year, says he would like to talk about larger issues related to sports, not Xs and Os. If he can manage to be as eloquent as he was in Canton, it'll be a show worth listening to.
