After TV guest spots on such series as “ER” and “Seinfeld”, Kathy began gaining notice as a stand-up comedienne and landed her own “HBO Half Hour Comedy Special.” In 1996, Kathy’s dream of playing a sidekick on a sitcom was realized when she landed the role of Brooke Shields’ acerbic colleague Vickie Groener on the NBC sitcom "Suddenly Susan". In 1998, HBO gave Kathy her own One-Hour Special, “A Hot Cup of Talk”.
Reality TV is a passion for Kathy who participated in, and won, “Celebrity Mole” on ABC, hosted the NBC reality series “Average Joe” as well as MTV’s “Kathy’s So-Called Reality” and, in 2005, debuted the reality show, “Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D-List” on Bravo to rave reviews. Its second and third seasons won Kathy back-to-back Emmys in Outstanding Reality Program. The program’s highly anticipated sixth season premieres on Bravo June 15.
