Hot Box: Television to talk about |
Toronto Star - Ontario, Canada - War is Hell(arious): A few years ago, accepting dual honours for Best Information/News at the annual TV Critics Association Awards, Jon Stewart sheepishly asked, "Uh ... you do know this is fake news, right?" The line blurs even more this week as Daily Show correspondent Rob Riggle reports from the front lines of Iraq – the real Iraq, not some cheap green-screen special effect. Riggle is ideally suited, as a comedic actor, and highly decorated major in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, having served in Liberia, Kosovo and Afghanistan. His reports will run all this week on The Daily Show, Monday through Thursday, 11 p.m., Comedy Network; 12:05 a.m., CTV.
Seacrest and Ye Shall Find: With James Brown out of the way, Ryan Seacrest seems intent on inheriting his mantle as "the hardest working man in show business." The E! News anchor, red-carpet ringmaster, American Idol host and morning radio personality will host the pre-game and half-time shows at Feburary's Super Bowl on Fox. Word has it he will also choreograph both cheerleading squads and run a few plays as special guest half-back.
