Hell's Kitchen vs. Top Chef

Variety - USA - HELL'S KITCHEN SUMMARY: Truth triumphed over beauty as Rock, the executive chef from Virginia, triumphed over alleged nanny/personal chef Bonnie. Gordon Ramsey saved face by selecting Rock, the only contestant in the bunch capable of running a kitchen. Episode featured the two finalists using former contestants as their kitchen help; some were inept and others indifferent as they prepared two rather uninspired menus.

TOP CHEF SUMMARY: Coincidentally, "Top Chef" also split into two teams to run two separate restaurants. One group opted for Restaurant April, the other for the Garage. One made bistro fare and the other went modern American, but wound preparing a rather heavy meal. Judge Ted Allen quipped: "I'm glad its December in Moscow" while dining on risotto with foie gras and lamb shank on a warm Miami night. Quickfire competition was the creation of a gourmet hamburger: Most of the submissions were actually sandwiches and one was darn close to being a salad.

The "Top Chef" judges decided to not eliminate anyone after dining at the two eateries, instead opting to go for a do-over. The eight finalists will go at it again next week, performing various tasks within their restaurants and judging from the upcoming clips, it appears they get a bit more time and money to make their dining spots a bit more hospitable.
