"Hell's Kitchen" Finale Tops Hispanic TV Ratings |
HispanicBusiness.com - Santa Barbara, CA, USA - The contestant known only as "Rock," a 30-year-old aspiring chef from Virginia, served up a pan-roasted prime rib eye with morel mushroom sauce en route to winning "Hell's Kitchen" in the season finale of the Fox program. The show closed out its third season atop the Hispanic TV ratings for the second straight week, according to figures released by the Nielsen Media Group for the week of Aug. 13-19.
Rock outdueled Bonnie in a culinary "battle of the sexes" – as it was dubbed by the show's host and chef Gordon Ramsay – to win season three. The finale drew a 4.7 rating to lead all other English-language programs in the Hispanic TV ratings.
Fox captured the lion's share of the top five with "So You Think You Can Dance" placing second with a 4.1, and two episodes of the "Family Guy" claiming third (3.6) and tying for fourth (3.4). ABC's "20/20" made a rare appearance in the top five by tying Fox's animated series for fourth. The remainder of shows in the top 10 – six programs – all tied for sixth place with a 3.1 mark.
Univision's nightly telenovela "Destilando Amor" topped the Hispanic TV ratings for Spanish-language programs for the fourth week in a row. It produced a 21.3 five-night average rating to lead the way. The Wednesday night broadcast drew nearly 2.6 million Hispanic households to earn a 22.3 rating, which topped all other individual Spanish-language broadcasts for the week.
