Food Network's Bobby Flay plans two cooking shows |
Gulf Coast Newspapers - Baldwin County, AL, USA - Bobby Flay, critically-acclaimed chef/restaurateur, award-winning cookbook author and television personality who has launched and starred in many national cooking shows on The Food Network, including the Emmy-winning “Boy Meets Grill” and “Throwdown with Bobby Flay,” is coming to Mobile for two exciting and entertaining cooking shows on Nov. 3.
The shows will be held at the Mobile Civic Center at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
“We’re really excited to host Bobby Flay in Mobile,” said Jay Hagerman, general manager of the Mobile Civic Center. “His talent and personality will make this a fun event for all and it will be a great kick-off to our holiday season.”
In addition to Flay’s performances, sponsors of the event will offer a specialty shopping area, free to the public, featuring retail sales for the holiday season, demonstrations, and sampling from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Civic Center.
Sponsors include Viking, Mobile Bay Monthly, On Media Precision TV Advertising, Clear Channel Radio and Rolling Rock Beer.
Flay is well known for being one of the world-renowned Iron Chefs. He is also a Food Correspondent for “The Early Show” on CBS, where he regularly informs a national audience about seasonal dishes and ingredients. In addition, he has a reputation as one of the most innovative chefs in the United States and owns six restaurants including locations in New York, Las Vegas, Atlantic City and the Bahamas.
His use of indigenous American, Southwestern and Mediterranean ingredients have helped establish new standards in American cooking. He works tirelessly to challenge diners’ expectations and influence the way Americans view and taste food — making it bold, zesty and always fun!
