Fierce Competition: 'Project Runway 4' films runway finale |
Springfield News Sun - Springfield, OH, USA - For Victoria Beckham, there was a clear winner at the "Project Runway" show Friday at New York Fashion Week. But she wasn't telling who.
Beckham is a guest judge for the two-part finale, which airs Feb. 27 and March 5.
"That one person really made me smile," she said. "Everything I saw, I would wear myself."
Five remaining contestants — Christian Siriano, Rami Kashou, Jillian Lewis, Chris March and Kathleen "Sweet P" Vaughn — presented collections to a celebrity-studded audience.
"It's going to be very, very hard for us to judge them today," said host Heidi Klum.
But much like the fourth season of Bravo's fashion reality show, Friday's "Project Runway" fashion show at Bryant Park ran as imagined: Christian stuck with his love of 1980s influenced gigot de mouton sleeves, Rami draped gorgeous gowns, Jillian showed a futuristic coat ... you get the idea.
There was some reality show synergy in the front row with Tyson Beckford and Nikki Taylor of "Make Me a Supermodel" and Padma Lakshmi and Ted Allen from "Top Chef." A few former competitors from "America's Next Top Model" were on the runway.
The favorite pre-show activity among audience members (who ignored requests to take their seats) was speculating on who should win this season's relatively drama-free contest.
"It's really hard to say," mused season three finalist Laura Bennett, who looked dazzling in a sleeveless cocktail dress despite the early hour. "I really think Christian should be slapped sometimes, but I'm saying that from my perspective as a mother. But I also think he's an incredible designer."
