Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’ announces its presence in Cheyenne with quite a bang |
Wyoming Tribune - Cheyenne, WY, USA - CHEYENNE n The house that Dan and Dawn Miller and their two children once called home will now forever be just a memory.
At 12:15 p.m. Sunday, their home east of Cheyenne was reduced to a smoldering pile of debris.
So too was their bed, their washing machine and even their small garage.
There were no plans for additions to the home, or for the inside to be gutted and redone. The only plan was to completely start over.
And to get this task started, hundreds of volunteers, spectators, and the cast and crew of ABC’s television series “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” watched as the demolition was executed Hollywood style n with dynamite.
A single blast rocked the foundation of the former residence as an enormous fireball enveloped the home and sent debris flying hundreds of feet in the air.
Cheers could be heard from the large crowd of workers and spectators as the home’s once solid walls were obliterated into tiny splinters of wood and burning debris.
But now that the old home is gone, the clock starts ticking as crews scramble over the next week to build a new home and finish the job. Completion and the unveiling to the Miller family are scheduled for Friday.
