Ellen DeGeneres Is America's Pick for Favorite Road Companion |
247gay.com - Los Angeles, CA, USA - The numbers are in and it looks like America would prefer to take a road trip with Ellen DeGeneres, Barack Obama or Rudy Giuliani than with American Idol impresario, Simon Cowell or Hillary Clinton and Mitt Romney.
According to the results of Rand McNally's 2007 Great American Road Trip Survey - Ellen DeGeneres is America's first choice to ride shotgun on a road trip, beating out celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Will Ferrell and Paris Hilton. And, putting all politics aside, U.S. travelers would most prefer to hit the road with presidential hopefuls Rudy Giuliani and Barack Obama. These are just two revelations from Rand McNally's 2007 Great American Road Trip Survey, which polled 4,000 adults nationwide about their summer road trip outlook, favorite road trip destinations, what goes on in the car during the drive and which celebrities they most would like to have in the passenger seat.
Of the more interesting findings in the survey was the fact that while American Idol fans may love to watch Simon Cowell on TV, only seven percent would chose him as their preferred road trip companion. Also intriguing was the finding that although twenty-four percent of men named Paris Hilton as their first choice for a road trip buddy, only two percent of women were similarly inclined.
On a political note, drivers selected Rudy Giuliani as the presidential candidate with whom they'd most like to take a road trip. Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton tied Barack Obama for most desirable road trip companion among Democrat Respondents.
