Dane Cook confident his record will not fall to Chappelle anytime soon |
Punchline Magazine - Hackensack, NJ, USA - When asked about the prospect of Dave Chappelle breaking his current seven-hour stand-up comedy record, Dane Cook confidently but respectfully said he wasn’t worried.
“It isn’t something we went into competitively. If anybody could get up there and entertain people for more than seven hours, it would be Dave,” he adds. “But I think the seven hours will probably stand for some time.”
If you’re keeping track: in April of last year, Chappelle beat Cook’s former record of three hours and 50 minutes. Unanswered, Chappelle came back with a six hour, 12-minute performance in December. On Jan. 1, Cook did seven hours.
The Comic Strip Live recently invited both comedians to come to New York City and hash it out during their marathon, 50-hour stand-up comedy benefit.
