Country Superstar Keith Anderson to Perform |
UK News - KY, USA - The University of Kentucky Student Activities Board is excited to announce chart-topping country music artist Keith Anderson as the headlining performer for its kick-off concert for the fall 2007 "Back to School Bash." Anderson will be accompanied by "Nashville Star" finalist Meg Allison during a live performance at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at the Singletary Center for the Arts on UK's campus.
"Keith Anderson and Meg Allison will bring a terrific musical performance to the UK campus," said SAB Concerts Director Joshua Rupp. "I hope students, along with members of the Lexington community, will join us for this great night of country music."
According to his agency, every song Keith sings sounds like a hit, and the proof is in his top-10 debut, "Pickin' Wildflowers," and his most recent hit, "Every Time I Hear Your Name." Just months after releasing his debut album, Keith was ranked as country's number-one new male artist of 2005 by Music Trades Billboard and Radio & Records. He was also selected by People magazine as one of 2005's "50 Hottest Bachelors" issue, and has been featured on "Access Hollywood," "Today" and "Inside Edition." Anderson has also been named Men's Fitness magazine's "Ultimate Country Star."
Meg Allison, a finalist on the hit show "Nashville Star," will be opening for Anderson. Allison performed at two National Associations for Campus Activities conferences where she booked over 80 shows in one semester. As an emerging country artist, Allison recently released her debut album, "Missing Piece." Traveling coast to coast, Allison has been perfecting her craft making a name for herself through successful songs like "Old Soul," "Back Up" and "Kiss Me Tonight."
Tickets for the event are available at the UK Singletary Center Box Office or online. Tickets can be purchased in advance and are $10 for students and $20 for the general public. Tickets can also be purchased on the day of show for $15 for students and $25 for the general public. Other fees and service charges may apply. Country music radio station 98.1, The Bull is serving as a media sponsor for this event.
