Conference: Nanotechnology and Health - Evidence and Impact

Nanowerk LLC - Honolulu, HI, USA - The University of Michigan Center for Risk Science and Communication just announced that registration is now open for the 2007 Bernstein Symposium: "Nanotechnology and Health: Evidence and Impact." Keynote Speaker: Christine Todd Whitman.

The symposium will bring together leading scientists and policymakers to examine the emerging field of nanotechnology, its potential impact on human health, and the growing debate over whether to regulate nanotechnology products.

Christine Todd Whitman, Governor of New Jersey (1994-2001) and Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (2001-2003), will discuss nanotechnology through her keynote address, "Risky, Riskier, Riskiest: The Pitfalls, Perils, and Possibilities for Policymakers." Other national and international scientific and policy experts will explore the implications, challenges, and opportunities provided by this emerging technology.

Deadline for registration is October 15, 2007.

The UM Center for Risk Science and Communication studies health risks from environmental hazards, and provides independent and objective information about health risks to a broad group of stakeholders in order to promote informed decision-making.
