Chris Young still loves his fans |
Murfreesboro Post - Murfreesboro, TN, USA - Chris Young is enjoying his rising fame.
Paparazzi aren’t following his every move with their camera lenses, but the Nashville Star winner and RCA recording artist is starting to get recognized on the street.
“It is kind of cool,” he said. “It is not something that happens 24 hours a day.”
But there are some things that come along with fame that the Murfreesboro native doesn’t know if he will ever get used to, like hearing his songs on the radio.
“It freaks you out in a good way,” Young said.
Hearing fans sing the lyrics to his songs during his shows is another thing that still catches Young off guard.
“It is probably the coolest thing that could happen on stage,” Young said. “The first time anyone sang my lyrics back to me, it freaked me out a little bit.
“I don’t ever think you get used to that,” he added. “You always appreciate it.”
Recently as he drove home from Nashville, Young spoke to The Murfreesboro Post about what life has been like since winning the nationally televised competition in May of last year. His self-titled debut album was released in October and featured the hit single “Drinking Me Lonely.”
Young is saying thanks to his local fans with several intimate performances slated for 3rd & Lindsley Bar & Grill in Nashville this summer. The hunky singer performed last Thursday and Friday at 3rd & Lindsley and the Grand Ole Opry, respectively, and he will perform again at 3rd & Lindsley July 25 and Aug. 16 and 30.
