Cheadle becomes Dixon Golf spokesman |
Phoenix Business Journal - Actor, producer and avid golfer Don Cheadle has joined Dixon Golf as its celebrity spokesman and will play with the Dixon Earth golf ball this weekend in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
“Not only is he a great actor and artist, he is an avid golfer and a genuine person who truly wants to make a positive impact on the environment for future generations,” said William Carey, CEO of the Mesa-based company. “We are excited to work with Don and feel that he will have a positive impact on our eco-friendly initiatives.”
Cheadle, who is starring in “Iron Man 2,” set for release this spring, has appeared in hits including “Ocean’s 11,” “Traffic,” “Boogie Nights” and “Devil in a Blue Dress.” He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in “Hotel Rwanda,” and he starred and co-executive-produced “Crash,” winner of the 2005 Academy Award for Best Picture.
“I love the game of golf and want to do my part to educate golfers how to be more environmentally responsible, even when it comes to the golf balls we use,” said Cheadle, a single-digit handicapper. “I have been playing the Dixon Earth ball for a while and love the fact that not only is it eco-friendly, but it is a high-performance golf ball as well.”
