Charlotte Church Auctions Off Dress For AIDS Charity |

Ecorazzi, NY - Many people here in the states don’t know this, but in England Charlotte Church is a big deal. The 22-year-old former pop/classical star now hosts a talk show on British Channel 4 where she interviews a whole slew of famous guests. Charlotte recently took some time out of her busy recording schedule to help a group of people who aren’t so well known.
Church donated a dress she wore on her talk show to the Topsy Foundation for an auction on eBay. The Topsy Foundation partners with rural communities in South Africa, empowering people infected with and affected by HIV and AIDS through medical care, social support and skills development.
Charlotte said: “Sadly, South Africa has one of the world’s highest HIV and AIDS infection rates and with so many people living without access to proper medical treatment and a suitable standard of nutritional intake, many continue to succumb to the disease. The charity conducts very effective work in rural and deprived areas with the full support and participation of the local communities. It brings genuine benefit to the quality of life of a significant number infected and/or affected with HIV/AIDS.”
