Celebrity Chef Takes On Buffalo's 'Wing King' |
WBEN 930 - Buffalo, NY, USA - Buffalo's legenday Anchor Bar was the scene for the taping of a cooking challenge pitting the self-proclaimed local "Wing King" against celebrity chef Bobby Flay.
"Throwdown with Bobby Flay" on the Food Network was tapped a few weeks ago, and debuted last night. Flay takes on chefs in a cook-off of local specialities. This time, he challenged annual chicken wing festival organizer Drew Cerza, and in the end, the local recipe was deemed the favorite by a full-house sampling both versions.
The Anchor Bar sauce is basically a combination of Frank's Hot Sauce and butter; Cerza varied them, by making them barbeque, and Flay's version had a bourbon base. Here is that recipe, courtesy of the Food Network:
