CBS HAS CAREY 'POWER' |
New York Post - New York, NY, USA - DREW Carey flashed the kind of audience pull this week that will make CBS think it made the right choice naming him the new host of the "The Price Is Right."
The Carey-hosted game show, "Power of 10, a short-run summer replacement, drew more than 9 million viewers in its first night.
The show awarded $1 million to its very first contestant, 19-year-old Upper Montclair, N.J. college student Jamie Sadler.
"Power" also won its timeslot (8-9 p.m.) among younger viewerss - unusual for a game show, which generally skews older.
The show's solid opening numbers bode well for Carey's next job as host of "The Price Is Right," replacing Bob Barker.
NBC's "America's Got Talent" also had a big night, snaring nearly 11 million viewers as the night's most-watched show.
