| 'Last Comic Standing' Josh Blue delivers laughs to kick off United Way campaign |

- Josh Blue, the 2006 winner of NBC's TV show, "Last Comic Standing," was the headliner at Thursday morning's United Way campaign kickoff to raise $2.7 million in 2007 to help Marion County's needy.
At 8 a.m., Blue had about 230 people, who attended the breakfast at the new Holiday Inn off Southwest 38th Avenue, laughing. Through his comedy, Blue, who has cerebral palsy, shows that people with disabilities can live without limits. He jokes about his life and his family.
"By the time they figured I had something wrong with me, they already knew there was nothing wrong with me," Blue quipped

- Rich Ira Vos was known as a finalist of NBC's Last Comic Standing. Having extensive experience in stand-up comedy, he was often referred to as “The Don” by host Jay Mohr. | NBC renews 'America's Got Talent' and 'Last Comic Standing' |

- NBC has announced that it has given early Summer 2008 renewals to its America's Got Talent and Last Comic Standing reality competition series.
"Both of these innovative series have proven to be summer staples and important franchises for NBC," Craig Plestis, NBC's executive vice president of alternative programming, stated in the network's renewal announcement. "We have the most-watched show in America's Got Talent and one of the most upscale series in Last Comic Standing, and now viewers can look forward to seeing these popular brand series with fresh new shows again next summer."
Next summer's installments will represent America's Got Talent's third

| 'Last Comic Standing' winner coming to Ocala |

- Ocala will getting some "Blue" humor for a good cause.
Josh Blue, winner of NBC's "Last Comic Standing" show in 2006, will appear here on Aug. 23 to benefit the United Way.
Blue will be part of the United Way "Kickoff Breakfast," at 7:30 a.m. in the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites , and tickets are $20 each and $200 for a corporate table of eight persons.
Also, that night, Blue will play the Ocala Civic Theatre at 7:30. Tickets for the show are $100 and $50.

- Comedian Alonzo Bodden, the third winner of the reality series Last Comic Standing, is serving as one of the talent scouts for the show’s current season. The show is responsible for launching Alonzo Bodden’s career, as well as the careers of other previous winners.
"The biggest change is you become a name," he told USA Today. "Before, I was working the clubs. People laughed, but they didn't know who I was. I've gone from club headliner to being a nationally known act."
