Paula Abdul: I Want to Dance With the Stars!
OK! Magazine - New York, NY, USA - As if being a judge on American Idol isn't enough for singer (and dancer, and choreographer) Paula Abdul, she now tells OK! that there’s a possibility she might be crossing to the other side of the table to compete on the next season of Dancing With the Stars!

“I’m just hypothetically thinking about it,” Paula revealed to OK! after sitting in on Monday's taping of the hit ABC reality competition. And, despite being on a competing network (Idol airs on Fox), she claims there would be no conflict with her show. “There’s a thing called the ‘off-season,’ I think.”

Last month, DWTS

'American Idol' judging panel in a grumpy mood after too much Beatles
San Jose Mercury News - CA, USA - Now that the "American Idol" finalists are done defiling the Beatles' sacred songbook, maybe we can raise the bar just a bit. Also, please welcome Colleen Gonzalez, our guest judge for the week.

Patti Compton, 76, Rossmoor

Last week: Though Carly Smithson is not my cup of tea, I was shocked to see her in the bottom three. Good riddance to Amanda Overmyer. She and her tongue didn't belong.

Looking ahead: Jason Castro and Chikezie are

'American Idol' star Kevin Covais sings in Medford
Newsday - Long Island, NY, USA - "American Idol" alum Kevin Covais, the teen balladeer from Levittown, performed for about 700 students at Tremont Elementary School in Medford Tuesday, in a concert that rewarded the children for helping to raise the most money for a new diabetes center for their community.

Wearing jeans and blue-and-white sneakers with a light blue buttoned-down shirt and pink plaid tie, the bespectacled crooner ran through several pop tunes, including newer ones such as BBMak's "Back Here Baby" and classics like Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World."

Last fall, students at the Patchogue-Medford school district's seven elementary schools held a walkathon, collecting more than

'American Idol' hits a sour note in season 7
Newsday - Long Island, NY, USA - ' American Idol": Can you think of any two words that spark greater debate - with the exception of " Mets" and "Yankees?" This season, ratings are down (a bit) and passions are high. Is this the most boring season ever, or is this the best? TV editor Andy Edelstein and TV writer Verne Gay square off over the most Important Question on TV (at least for this moment).

I used to be an "American Idol" fan, eagerly looking forward to each week's shows. But now I watch it solely because of professional obligation. And that's no way to watch TV.

Last week, officials announced that Ace Young (season 5) and Bo Bice (season 4) will be on hand to mentor  and perform for the campers this year, alongside JPL. And there will be more big names to come (last year, campers were treated to a concert performance and instruction by R&B superstar, Macy Gray!). Both Jon Peter Lewis and Ace Young participated in Idol Camp
