Chamber lunch with Forbes as speaker sold out
Lincoln Journal Star - The Lincoln Chamber of Commerce announced Tuesday that its 2011 Annual Lunch at The Cornhusker Marriott with businessman and former presidential candidate Steve Forbes as keynote speaker is sold out.

The Chamber is offering additional overflow seating for the Feb. 1 lunch, which runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be room for 100 additional people to watch a live video feed of the speech in the hotel's Arbor Room. Cost is the $35, and the tickets are available on a first come, first served basis.

Best-selling author, social and political satirist Christopher Buckley to speak at Vanderbilt University Oct. 19

Vanderbilt University News - Christopher Buckley, hailed as “the quintessential political novelist of his time” by Fortune magazine, will give a public lecture at Vanderbilt University Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the event go on sale today. Buckley’s talk will be held in the ballroom of the Student Life Center located at 310 25th Ave. S. on Vanderbilt’s campus. Buckley will also sign books at the Vanderbilt Bookstore from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. The university’s Speakers Committee, a student-run organization, is sponsoring the event.
