Michael Irvin Heading to Fox Sports Radio?
AOL SPORTS - New York, NY, USA - I noted this week that the induction speech given by Michael Irvin at the Pro Football Hall of Fame was so well received that there's talk that it may have revived Irvin's broadcasting career.

Today the Dallas Morning News is reporting that Irvin is closing in on a deal to join Fox Sports Radio:

Boomer Esiason Foundation partners with Redbone for charity tournament
Sport Fishing - USA - The Boomer Esiason Foundation will partner with the Redbone for the sixth annual F.C.A. Montauk Slam, a national celebrity fishing event to raise funds and awareness for cystic fibrosis, at the Montauk Yacht Club Resort and Marina, Sept. 19 – 21.

A field of 80-plus anglers and celebrities are expected to use fly and light tackle for a "Nor' East Grand Slam" of striped bass, bluefish and false albacore. All fish caught are photographed, measured and immediately returned to the water. The teams are guided by 40 experienced and local captains.

NBC, Fox make sense for Patrick
USA Today - USA - Studio hosts get lots more on-air face time than anybody else in TV sports. So Dan Patrick, after anchoring SportsCenter for 17 years and popping up to host things such as ABC/ESPN's NBA coverage, presumably has a pretty marketable mug — rather than just a face for radio.

Patrick, leaving ESPN Aug. 17, has only announced he'll do a syndicated radio show and said he doesn't "have any magic potion that says I know what I'm doing."

So where would he fit in? Handicapping the prospects:

•NBC. NBC's Olympic announcing lineup, with notable exceptions such as Mary Carillo, has suffered from excessive earnestness.
