- Drew Carey has no problem recognizing the star of "The Price Is Right."
"It's the contestant, not the game, not the host. It's that person up there on the stage who goes on a journey, and the audience is right there with them," Carey says. "The host is just the guide. All I have to do is just show up in a good mood and be nice to everybody."

| CBS looks to game-show host Drew Carey to help boost ratings |

- CBS is calling on old Brooklyn native Drew Carey for some prime-time help during the May sweeps period, when ratings determine how much stations can charge for advertising.
The network has ordered four more evening editions of Carey's daytime game show, "The Price is Right.'' The four "The Price is Right Million Dollar Spectacular'' specials will air at 8-9 p.m. Wednesdays on WOIO Channel 19.
Prime-time "Price is Right'' specials have been ratings winners for CBS on Fridays.
Carey took over as the host of "The Price is Right'' in October, replacing Bob Barker.

- Joey Fatone has had to be pretty coordinated in a variety of very different venues. As a boy bander during his time as a member of ‘N Sync, he had to master hip-hop and pop-influenced moves. As a Brodway actor in Rent and Little Shop of Horrors, he had to learn the blocking involved with modern musical theater. And as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars, he had to learn the steps of ballroom and Latin dancing.
Now, for his 31st birthday, he had the chance to learn a new move: floating in “space.”

- CBS has confirmed that it is in talks with comedian Drew Carey as a possible host for it's long-running daytime game show, The Price is Right, which was hosted for eons by Bob Barker who is retiring. But in the running for the host spot is Rosie O'Donnell, but between the two stars it might come down to the Right Price as to who will replace Barker.
Bob Barker retired from the Price is Right in May after 35 years as the game show's host and finding his replacement has been a challenge, says CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler.

- Legendary KRLA jock and “Newlywed Game” host Bob Eubanks will speak at Edison’s "30 under 30" Awards Luncheon on Saturday, June 30m during Conclave 007: Radio Under Construction.
Eubanks will deliver a presentation called "Power of Partnerships" – a humorous look at maintaining a balance between people skills and the rapid growth of technology.
Before his TV game show success, Eubanks spent 10 years doing radio in California, beginning in 1958 at KACY Oxnard and later moving to KRLA Los Angeles where he worked alongside legendary radio broadcasters including Casey Kasem and Dick Biondi.

- CBS was way out in front Wednesday night, winning every time slot. The network's trio of victors: "Power of 10" with 8.4 million, "Criminal Minds" with 8.5 million and "CSI: NY" with 8.9 million. Drew Carey (pictured) hosts "Power of 10," and no wonder that man is laughing. Life is good, with his gigs at "Power of 10" and "The Price Is Right."
CBS averaged 8.6 million in prime time, and it seems likely that "Power of 10" will be the first sub when a CBS series falters this fall.
The rest: NBC with nearly 6 million, ABC and Fox with 3.8

- Drew Carey could end up pulling double duty as the host of "The Price is Right" and "Power of 10."
Game show guru Michael Davies told the industry trade magazine, Broadcasting and Cable, that Carey's "Price" schedule wouldn't keep him from hosting "Power" if it gets picked up again.
Davies, who also produces "Who Wants to be a Millionaire," created CBS's "Power of 10." CBS recently ordered four new episodes of the quiz show.

I'll have to admit that I'm not econo-geeky enough to understand how the T-Bonds are connected to the LIBOR-bone, and the LIBOR-bone is connected to the Yeild Curve-bone, or any of the other tangled, intricate web of how the lending industry is interrelated. - Ryan Seacrest must schmooze more celebrities before breakfast than most interviewers do all day. Just days after we reported on his Super Bowl shindig, E! News says that its golden boy has landed a gig hosting the Emmys.
Of course, this year's Emmys are on Fox. They also apparently don't plan to be funny. Previous hosts include Conan O'Brien, Garry Shandling, and Ellen DeGeneres.
Seacrest will keep his pre-show hosting duties on E! Talk about an exhausting night for the guy. He really is the next Dick Clark!
The 59th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will air live Sunday, September 16 on Fox. --
