Fashions to tie-dye for - St. Petersburg, FL, USA - Gregory Parkinson dresses fashion plates such as Brooke Shields and Shiva Rose. He's shown his collection on the runway in Los Angeles and New York. And he sells his color-drenched, vibrantly patterned clothes at some of the world's most exclusive stores.

But this day, he's elbow deep in a potful of purple dye, teaching us how to cook up spring's coolest ombre pieces at home.

"This isn't the tie-dye your parents wore," Parkinson says in his British accent.

No, it's not. The spring runways proved that tie-dye today is as artful a form of decoration as hand-beading or embroidery. The old starburst patterns

'Runway' Winner Visits 'Betty' & Dresses 'Idol'
Christian Siriano
Access Hollywood - USA - Christian Siriano is "auf" to a fierce start.

Just weeks after besting fellow "Project Runway" designers Jillian Lewis and Rami Kashou on the fourth season of Bravo's "Project Runway," Christian is already making headway in the world of fashion and entertainment.

The designer, who is known for his tight fashions, unique hair and a "fierce" catchphrase or two, has designed a Christian Siriano original for "American Idol" alum Kimberley Locke. The "Idol" Season Two contestant will wear his "fierce" creation during her upcoming appearance on "Idol," according to

While on "Project Runway," Christian had a second catchphrase – "tranny" — which he

Project Runway Getting Ugly?
E! Online - USA - Project Runway winner Christian Siriano has reportedly told media this week that he will make a cameo as—what else?—himself on the hit ABC comedy.

However, an ABC rep says she can't confirm his appearance. "We hear this stuff all the time," the rep said. "Every day it's someone new."

Ugly or not, he's got Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham in his corner. He did a fitting on Wednesday with the fashionista at her L.A.-area home and another with Heidi Klum.

Later that night, Project Runway producer Jane Cha hosted a dinner in his honor at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel with guests including rap artist

Designs on the future
Christian Siriano
Washington Blade - Washington, DC, USA - As every fashion queen already knows, sassy Christian Siriano was crowned the winner of Bravo’s “Project Runway” — and he’s the youngest to ever take home the prize.

The 22-year-old’s run on the show was chronicled in his often whiny, frequently snippy and occasionally dead-on interview blurbs that peppered the otherwise tame fourth season of the show.

“I’m gonna die of barfness,” he said about the challenge that included deconstructing jeans and redesigning them into a new classic denim look.

“I’m not a miracle worker, lady. I can’t make you have an ass,” he told a client who had lost a lot of

Siriano Wins Runway Crown
Observer Online - IN, USA - The fourth season of Bravo's hit show, Project Runway, did more than crown a winner with its conclusion last week. The finale, with 5.2 million total viewers, set a viewership record for the channel in the 18 to 49 year-old demographic, with an average of 3.75 million viewers, up 9 percent from last season's finale. This number put Bravo ahead of two of the three broadcast networks (ABC and CBS) at the 10 p.m. time slot that night.

Many celebrities attended the finale, which showed three finalists' collections in a runway show in Bryant Park during New York Fashion Week. Supermodel

Fall 2008 Fashion Week, Part 2: Lauren Conrad Premieres New Line, Getty Images Photographer Frazer Harrison Shoots and Responds
Lauren Conrad
Glosslip - Cleveland, OH, USA - Lauren Conrad, or as we affectionately like to refer to her in the celeb gossip world, LC, has made a name for herself not just as a reality TV star, first on MTV’s Laguna Beach and then The Hills, but also as fashion designer.

As someone who watched the first generation of Laguna Beach: The Real O.C., I always saw Lauren as the more ambitious of the bunch, where early on she showed tremendous interest in fashion design and was responsible for setting up a charity fashion show to help victims of the mudslides which struck her hometown of Laguna Beach,

Gasp! Polyester Is the New Name In Paris Fashion
Wall Street Journal - USA - It has been more than three decades since "The Brady Bunch" went off the air. But the memory of the yellow polyester dance outfit she wore on the long-running sitcom still haunts Maureen McCormick, who played the eldest Brady daughter, Marcia.

"I never wanted to see polyester again," says the 51-year-old Ms. McCormick, recalling how the material clung to her body and made her sweat.

But brace yourself. Polyester is back.

As Paris fashion week wraps up, several designers are lauding polyester as high fashion's next big thing. Lanvin's Alber Elbaz, Nina Ricci's Olivier Theyskens and the American designer Narciso Rodriguez all have

The CW's 'Top Model' combines aspiration and perspiration
Hollywood Reporter - United States - It might just be that the seminal moment for "America's Next Top Model" (born May 20, 2003) arrived when it tapped fashion photographer Nigel Barker to be a judge at the beginning of what it refers to as "Cycle 2." Barker is U.K.-born, you see, and if the unscripted TV world has taught us anything, it's that you need a Brit helping with judging in order to succeed on any sort of elite scale.

"That's simply how it is," Barker insists. "It's an established fact that your show needs a bit of salt, a little pepper and a dash of Englishman."
