They’re really noisy. They’re cool to look at. I drove by three new trucks in Hollywood today, and I got so excited. I was like a little kid.”

St. Louis Post-Dispatch - Chicago celebrity chef Rick Bayless wowed a crowd of nearly 150 people today at Moulin restaurant where he did a cooking demonstration and signed copies of his new cookbook at an event hosted by Sauce Magazine and Left Bank Books.

Bayless is one of those people who, at least on the surface, seems to have it all -- handsome, talented and enormously successful. The image loses nothing in translation to real life.

Chatting easily while chopping, mixing, stirring and seasoning, Bayless has clearly done all this before. He complimented the staff at Moulin, saying: "The kitchen here has been really tremendous to

Celebrity lands at Hilton: Casino welcomes chef Kerry Simon
Press of Atlantic City - Kerry Simon is as approachable as his food. Wearing a chef's jacket and jeans, Simon embodies a laid-back coolness that is the antithesis of the fire-breathing celebrity chefs you usually see on The Food Network. Brilliant trickery on "Celebrity Apprentice" keeps the brand strong
Curtis Stone
Denver Post - NBC's "The Celebrity Apprentice" is a masterful bit of what magicians call misdirection. While you're focused on the game, the action is elsewhere. The reality is, it's a stroke of product-placement genius, disguised as a competition.

It's a vanity project that wraps itself in respectability by raising money for charity.

It's the video equivalent of "Us" magazine, pretending to be a business-school text.

"The Celebrity Apprentice" holds on to a core audience of 6.6 million viewers, according to Nielsen ratings, even against the powerhouse Country Music Awards special on CBS last week. With all the masquerading, it's doing something right.
