Look To The Stars - Ellen DeGeneres, Jimmy Kimmel, and Elton John  are just several celebrities who are kicking off their shoes for the Second Annual Hillsides  Foster Soles auction.

Held during Foster Care Awareness Month in May, the annual online auction raises awareness of national foster care issues and the plight of children and youth in the system by auctioning off celebrity signed shoes and photographs.

Packer Greg Jennings to speak at Big Brothers Big Sisters event
The Enquirer, Battle Creek Enquirer - Kalamazoo native and Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings will be the keynote speaker at the local Big Brothers Big Sisters benefit dinner on May 24, the mentoring group announced today.

In addition to Jennings' talk, the dinner will feature appetizers, a gourmet dinner and a silent auction, according to Big Brothers Big Sisters’ website, bbbsmi.org. Tickets are $300 and can be reserved by calling 888-898-3001.

Jennings graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School and broke football records at Western Michigan University before joining the NFL in 2006.

Brilliant trickery on "Celebrity Apprentice" keeps the brand strong

Denver Post - NBC's "The Celebrity Apprentice" is a masterful bit of what magicians call misdirection. While you're focused on the game, the action is elsewhere. The reality is, it's a stroke of product-placement genius, disguised as a competition.

It's a vanity project that wraps itself in respectability by raising money for charity.

It's the video equivalent of "Us" magazine, pretending to be a business-school text.

"The Celebrity Apprentice" holds on to a core audience of 6.6 million viewers, according to Nielsen ratings, even against the powerhouse Country Music Awards special on CBS last week. With all the masquerading, it's doing something right.
