Entertainment Weekly - USA - Eddie Izzard (The Riches) told Newsweek that he is eyeing a possible career in European politics. ''We've got to make it work in Europe," the 46-year-old comedian told the magazine for its issue hitting newsstands on April 21. ''People are very worried about sovereignty and the loss of sovereignty. I think the stakes are if we don't make the European Union work, then the world is screwed. End of story.'' Celebs Step Out for Beckham's US Soccer Debut
People Magazine - USA - Forget Les Deux and Teddy's: Hollywood's hottest celeb hangout Saturday night was the Home Depot Center in nearby Carson, Calif., as Katie Holmes, Eva Longoria, Mary-Kate Olsen and others showed up to watch David Beckham's American soccer debut with the Los Angeles Galaxy.

And despite fears that an ankle injury would sideline him for his first game, Beckham did indeed play – about 13 minutes in the second half of the exhibition match against Chelsea. (Chelsea won, 1-0.)

"It was nice to get out there," Beckham told reporters afterward.
