Food Detectives Host Ted Allen
Well Fed Network - USA - I guess it shows how much of a foodie geek I am that I waited with great anticipation for Food Network’s latest hit Food Detectives with Ted Allen.  I was justly rewarded.  Food Detectives is very entertaining and host Ted Allen is charming.  He’s been a judge on every season of Top Chef (Bravo) and Food Network’s “Iron Chef America,” but Ted first hit the small screen on the much beloved Queer Eye for Straight Guy.

Today Allen is an award winning food writer and cookbook author, he is the spokesman for Robert Mondavi Private Selection, and now the host of

'Top Chef' Season 3 Raises The Bar - Branford, CT, USA - I'd like to personally welcome all of you easy chair culinary pundits to another season of "Top Chef." This show is the best food competition on TV; you can take your "Iron Chef" and shove it.

The kitchen is no place for theatrics, just nifty knife work, refined flavor profiles and the usual reality show drama. All of your favorite nitpickers (Tom, Ted, Gail and Padma) are back for this season's culinary sojourn in the windy city of Chicago. The new locale will assuredly provide us with more and different challenges spawned from the flavors of the second city, so let

Top Chef Chicago Recap, Show 1: Part I.
Chicagoist - Chicago, IL, USA - Top Chef is back and, according to Padma Lakshmi, tastier than ever. As Padma gives us an overview of the show, we get a brief glimpse of telling scenes to come – mainly, the predominant use of the F-word. And something tells us that this may be the most honest look we get into the back of the house. Winner gets: A spread in Food & Wine Magazine, showcase at the Annual Food and Wine Classic in Aspen, vacation to the French Alps, one hundred grand and all the Glad pimpin’ a person can take.

Padma Lakshmi, Tom Coliccho, Gail Simmons,

Three cooking shows sizzle
San Jose Mercury News - San Jose, CA, USA - Three of television's most-watched cooking competition shows return for new seasons in June. The series have slightly different twists to their contests, but all involve intense (and highly watchable) kitchen food fights.

First up: "The Next Food Network Star" (9 p.m. Sunday, Food Network) which judges contestants both on their culinary skills and their abilities in front of a TV camera. Among those on hand to provide advice: Rachael Ray, Bobby Flay and Cat Cora from "Iron Chef" and Bay Area Chef Guy Fieri, who won Season Two.

On Monday (8 p.m., Chs. 2, 35), "Hell's Kitchen," perhaps the most addictive show
