ABC News - Steve Martin glides from acting to music to writing so fluidly that he gives the impression it all comes easily to him.

Martin admits "a certain kind of ease" with writing fiction, as exemplified in his new novel "An Object of Beauty" from Grand Central Publishing, but only now does he feel that way, at age 65, years removed from the "wild and crazy guy" who burst into show business as a stand-up comedian in the 1970s.

Steve Martin bringing his banjo to Overture Hall on July 27
Madison.com - Steve Martin is coming to Overture Hall on July 27 -- but it's not a comedy show.

In addition to being famous as a comedian and actor ("Roxanne," "The Jerk,") Martin is also a talented five-string banjo player who won 2009 Grammy Award for his bluegrass album "The Crow." Martin, who recently played in Milwaukee, will bring his bluegrass combo the Steep Canyon Rangers to Overture Hall, on Tuesday, July 27, at 7:30 p.m.

Goldberg, Shaiman, Short and Walters Will Salute Crystal at Kennedy Center
Playbill.com - New York, NY, USA - As previously reported, Tony Award winner Billy Crystal will receive the tenth annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor Oct. 11 at 8 PM in the Kennedy Center Opera House.

The starry list of entertainers who will salute Crystal include Bob Costas, Jimmy Fallon, Whoopi Goldberg, Rob Reiner, Marc Shaiman, Martin Short, Barbara Walters and Robin Williams. The evening, which will be taped by WETA Washington, D.C., will air on PBS stations nationwide Nov. 12 at 9 PM ET.
