AHN - USA - Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed her 'Sex and the City' character has "fundamentally changed" in the new movie.

The 42-year-old actress - who plays sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw in the hit TV show - says the character is drastically different because 'Sex and the City: The Movie' picks up a few years after where the show left off.

She said: "Something major happens that fundamentally changes who Carrie is. The movie doesn't pick up right where the series ended either. It's a few years later and it's so packed with stuff."

"I am hopeful. I believe this time it's going to happen," Sarah Jessica Parker tells the August Elle, which arrives on newsstands July 17. Parker portrayed the ever-stylish New York writer Bradshaw during Sex and the City's run on HBO from 1998 to 2004.

Now that trade magazines have reported that New Line Cinema is near a deal with HBO to finance and distribute the movie, shooting is expected to start as early as the fall.

And Parker couldn't be happier, because she was up for a movie production a few years ago.

Parker is launching the trendy yet low-cost line “Bitten,” which will be sold at the affordable retail chain Steve & Barry’s.

“We really want women to have money left over to live, money to pay the utilities,” she said. “Your shirt should not [cost] more than the groceries is the basic idea.”
