Rick Bayless At O'Hare: Famed Chef Opening Two Restaurants In O'Hare Airport |

- Lines at an airport restaurant? It could happen sooner than you think.
The Chicago Department of Aviation announced Monday that celebrity chef Rick Bayless will open two restaurants in O'Hare Airport this fall.
Bayless, who has written several cookbooks, prepared the White House state dinner honoring Mexican President Felipe Calderon, has his own cooking show and competed on "Top Chef Masters" will open eateries in Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 of the airport.
According to a release from the aviation department, the restaurants will open this fall.

- Chicago celebrity chef Rick Bayless wowed a crowd of nearly 150 people today at Moulin restaurant where he did a cooking demonstration and signed copies of his new cookbook at an event hosted by Sauce Magazine and Left Bank Books.
Bayless is one of those people who, at least on the surface, seems to have it all -- handsome, talented and enormously successful. The image loses nothing in translation to real life.

- If the kitchens of Frontera Grill, Topolobampo and Xoco seem strangely devoid of Rick Bayless in the coming weeks, you can blame President Obama. Bayless has been tapped by Obama to head the kitchen for the upcoming state dinner with El Presidente of Mexico, Felipe Calderón. The New York Times reports that the celebrity chef will be helming the kitchen on May 19th, the second celebrity chef to run a state dinner menu. Marcus Samuellson, currently receiving the arrogant-jerk-edit on this season's Top Chef Masters, cooked for the Indian Prime Minister back in November.

- One of the most celebrated and successful chef-entrepreneurs in the United States is preparing for his first visit to Des Moines.
Rick Bayless, whose 20-year-old Chicago eatery Frontera Grill was recently named the nation’s best restaurant by the James Baird Foundation, will be participating in a June 23rd daylong event sponsored by the Gateway Market, 2002 Woodland Ave.
