It has heated up competition among the celebrity chefs who are usually competing for TV airtime and bookshelf space.
However, it is unlikely Essex-born Mr Oliver has lost any sleep over the matter. His cookery app became Apple's top-grossing UK app just days after its October release and has remained in the top five ever since.
