Imperioli is booked for Albom's 'Day'
Hollywood Reporter - United States - In his first major role since the end of "The Sopranos," Emmy winner Michael Imperioli is set to star alongside Oscar winner Ellen Burstyn in ABC's original movie "Oprah Winfrey Presents: Mitch Albom's For One More Day."

Based on Albom's best-selling book, the Harpo Films production centers on Chick Benetto (Imperioli), a former baseball player battling alcoholism and depression who, on the verge of taking his life, is magically granted one more day with his deceased mother (Burstyn), who shows him a way to redemption.

Albom wrote the screenplay for "Day," which will be directed by Lloyd Kramer. Oprah Winfrey and Kate

Adam Sandler's Co. Buys Mitch Albom Baseball Pitch
Cinematical - Santa Monica, CA, USA - Columnist turned author Mitch Albom is about to add another title to his resumé: that of screenwriter. (OK, he adapted a few of his books for television but I'm talking about screenwriting) According to Variety, Adam Sandler's Happy Madison shingle has bought a baseball-related pitch from the author ... and yes, the project is being set up by Sony as a vehicle for Mr. Sandler. Because he hasn't done enough sports comedies yet. (Nothing against Sandler, but he hasn't made a funny movie since The Wedding Singer, if it's me you're asking.)

Described as a "comedy with emotional elements set in

Sony Unites Adam Sandler and Mitch Albom
Zap2it.com - USA - Yukmeister Adam Sandler and schmaltzmeister Mitch Albom will join forces for a film sure to leave impressionable viewers giggling and misty-eyed.

There's actually very little info on the project. Variety merely says that Columbia Pictures and Sandler's Happy Madison shingle have snagged the rights to Albom's first feature screenplay.

Formerly best known to sports fans, Albom has reshaped himself into a bestselling author of sentimental fiction and nonfiction alike, writing the bestsellers "Tuesday With Morrie," "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" and "For One More Day."

While Sandler tiptoed into the sentimental realm with this spring's box office disappointment "Reign Over Me,"

Adam and Albom Team Up
TheCelebrityCafe.com - Valley Stream, NY, USA - Adam Sandler, who is known for comedic movies, recently took a risk and joined Don Cheadle in the more serious film “Reign Over Me.”

This summer Sandler returns to his roots in “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry,” which is about two strait men who get married to gain insurance benefits. Along with “Chuck and Larry” Sandler, with his production company Happy Madison and Columbia pictures, purchased the rights to a baseball comedy with heart. The movie is being penned by best selling author Mitch Albom. Albom is best known for his novels: “Tuesdays With Morrie,” “The Five People You
