The best-selling author and one-time Republican vice presidential candidate reportedly is collaborating with "Survivor" producer Mark Burnett on the project, which is being compared to Discovery's "Planet Earth" nature series.
The Post reported Palin and Burnett have been shopping the potential series to various U.S. networks, but said no deals have been cut yet. Whether Palin intends to appear on-screen or remain behind the scenes is unclear.

- "Survivor" producer Mark Burnett, voting his longtime business manager off the island, contended Wednesday in a lawsuit that even after Conrad Riggs received more than $25 million during their decade-long relationship, Riggs engaged in schemes to enrich himself further.
Burnett's countersuit comes three weeks after Riggs originally sued Burnett, the producer of such reality TV shows as "The Apprentice" and "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?" for allegedly reneging on an agreement to pay Riggs and his company, Cloudbreak Entertainment Inc., 10% of Burnett's profit.

- CBS' Survivor and The Amazing Race will not be in High-Definition during the 2007-2008 season.
That's according to an article in TV Week.
The publication reports that Mark Burnett, the executive producer of Survivor, says the network is concerned about the cost of upgrading the productions to high-def.
CBS says the reason is that it's concerned about using expensive, possibly less durable high-def cameras in the wild. (The shows are set in sometimes perilous situations such as jungle conditions.)
The network says the two explanations are not in conflict because the cost of replacing the cameras would drive up production expenses.

He's producing Sunday's live MTV Movie Awards, his first awards show. His new CBS series, Pirate Master, a wrinkle on Survivor with costumed contestants on a ship, premieres tonight (8 ET/PT).
