Bizjournals.com - Lawyer and best-selling author John Grisham make an appearance at Wake Forest University on Tuesday, Sept. 14, as a guest of the law school and the first speaker of the academic year in President Nathan Hatch’s Voices of Our Time series.

Grisham will talk about why he chose to tackle the issue of wrongful convictions and answer questions from students and faculty from the law school’s Innocence and Justice Clinic about the Greg Taylor case, the N.C. Innocence Inquiry Commission and the recent shake up at the state forensic lab, among others.

The event, at 4 p.m. in Wait Chapel, is free

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Students graduating from the University of North Carolina will hear a commencement address from best-selling author John Grisham, whose daughter is a UNC graduate.

Chancellor Holden Thorp will preside over the ceremony that begins Sunday morning in Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill.

Grisham also has spoken at two North Carolina Literary Festivals held on campus - in 1998 and the most recent festival in September 2009. His daughter, Shea, graduated from UNC in 2008 with a degree in elementary education.
