- One of the greatest Olympic Icons Janet Evans was inducted on Saturday in San Diego into the National Federation of State High School Association's National High School Hall of Fame.
The five-time Olympic medalist is considered to be the greatest long-distance swimmer in history. Evans set 10 CIF Southern section records and two national records while swimming for El Dorado High in Placentia from 1987 - 1989. Her 500-yard freestyle time of 4 minutes, 37.30 seconds was the standard for nearly 20 years.
