NFL Hall of Famer Draws a Big Crowd at Men's Health Day
13WHAM-TV - Gale Sayers, legendary Chicago Bears running back, was the keynote speaker at University of Rochester Medical Center's "Men's Health Day."

It was a full house today at the Hyatt Hotel downtown.

400 people, mostly men, came to learn more about their health and taking care of themselves.

Ron Kampff, of Webster, says, "believe it or not, I'm at that age that you need to start worrying about cholesterol and strokes and heart problems, and I just thought it would be interesting to learn a little bit about what it's like to get old I guess."

Sayers keynote speaker at event
South Bend Tribune - GOSHEN — Gale Sayers will be the keynote speaker at Goshen Center for Cancer’s sixth annual True Celebration program at 2 p.m. May 16 at Sauder Hall Performing Arts Center on the Goshen College campus.

True Celebration is an annual event recognizing those who are facing their fight against cancer. Area cancer survivors and community member are invited to the free event.

Doors will open at 1:30 p.m., and early arrival is recommended as seating will be limited. No tickets are required.

The Performing Arts Center is located on College Avenue and 12th St.

Gale Sayers Celebrates 30 Years In Hall Of Fame
Fox 28 - South Bend, IN, USA - Chicago Bears legend Gale Sayers is celebrating 30 years of being a hall of famer.

He was a record breaking halfback for Chicago from 1965-1971 before knee injuries sidelined his career early.

July 30th, 1977 Sayers became the youngest player inducted into the Hall, now he can reminisce on his remarkable career.

"It's very special to me because celebrating my 30th anniversary, that's something that not a lot of people get to do," Sayers said.

"I went in very very young, most people go in when they're 40, 50, 60 years old and don't even make their 30th anniversary."
