Conan O'Brien Brings The Laughs
by Ernie Osborn, Tulsa Today - Hilarity reigned supreme Saturday night , May 15 at Brady Theater.  Conan O'Brien brought an amazingly energetic and side-splittingly funny show to Tulsa.

O'Brien, not being known for stand up comedy, was enigmatic in his approach, but pulled it off like a seasoned vet.  He brought different tinges to the stage through skit, video and song.

Opener Reggie Watts got the sold out house going with his constantly changing accents and beat-box songs.  Upon first coming to the stage he had an urban accent and led into using spontaneous voice samples to create a short song.  Next, he started an English accent

Conan O'Brien returns to Universal City for two nights only (for now), brings TV friends with him!
Examiner.com - This weekend, stand-up comedian-turned-talk show host Conan O'Brien got back to his roots at Los Angeles' Gibson Amphitheatre. Playing to a sold-out crowd that included television reporters, fans, and celebrities in their own right (including The Office's Craig Robinson, comedian David Spade, and Comcast TV exec Ted Harbert), O'Brien took his "Legally Prohibited (from Being Funny on Television)" Tour to a stage just yards away from where many of the same crowd rallied  for him to keep his time slot just months ago.

Of course, being in such close proximity to NBC-Universal called for jokes in and of itself. O'Brien started

Did Conan, Colbert or Stewart Create Huckabee?
Town Hall - Washington, DC, USA - Did you catch the great showdown this past week? No, not Super Tuesday but the late-night television comedian battle over who discovered and "made" GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.

While Republicans and Democrats were slugging it out at the polls, three kingpins of comedy were in chortle combat for the right to be called the creator of the GOP contender and his surge in this election race. Even they are somewhat surprised this 10-year Arkansas governor outlasted candidates such as Giuliani, Thompson and Romney to be among the finalists for the GOP nomination.

The sardonic segments about Huckabee on each of their

Writers' strike forces late-night hosts to improvise
Beacon Newspaper (subscription) - Miami, FL, USA - Without the safety net of their writing staffs to help them craft their jokes and construct their premises, many late night talk show hosts have been forced to wing it as the writer's strike has entered its fourth month.

From "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" to "The Colbert Report" with Stephen Colbert, the late night hosts have been forced to rely more on their wits and charm than jokes, and the results have ranged from the brilliant (The Colbert-Conan-Jon Stewart 'fued') to the awful (everything Jay Leno has done, which, is actually, not a big change from normal pre-writers' strike Leno.)

Huckabee to Meet His 'Maker' -- on TV
U.S. News & World Report - Washington, DC, USA - Funny guys Conan O'Brien and Stephen Colbert have been warring over the airwaves over who first discovered and "made" Mike Huckabee, the once obscure former Arkansas governor, into the popular Republican presidential candidate he is today.

Colbert first claimed to have made Huckabee by giving him an appearance on his TV show. O'Brien argued that he made Huckabee by featuring unintentionally funny clips of Huckabee supporter Chuck Norris on his show. Then Jon Stewart got involved, arguing that he made Conan O'Brien — dusting off an old tape in which he interviewed O'Brien on his short-lived talk show from the mid-1990s.

Conan, Colbert and Stewart Unite in Epic Brawl
About - News & Issues - New York, NY, USA - Conan O'Brien, Stephen Colbert, and Jon Stewart resorted to fisticuffs while appearing on each other's shows to settle a mock feud over who made Mike Huckabee.

The fight began a few weeks ago when O'Brien claimed he was responsible for Huckabee's success in the presidential primaries because he made Chuck Norris, who, in turn, made Huckabee. Therefore O'Brien made Huckabee. Colbert, for his part, claimed that Huckabee's success was due to the "Colbert bump" Huckabee received after appearing on his show.

Conan O'Brien vs. Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert O'Brien and Colbert sniped back and forth, and later Stewart got into the

Fallon May Replace O'Brien On Late Night
Cinema Blend - USA - He's an idiot, and he's your boyfriend... and maybe your next late-night host. NBC has reportedly put Jimmy Fallon at "the top of our short list" to replace Conan O'Brien as the host of 'Late Night,' according to a Broadcasting & Cable interview with NBC late-night chief Rick Ludwin.

"These are very tough jobs when you promise comedy as part of the equation, and it's a grind to do one of these shows," Ludwin says. "We know him from SNL and saw what he can do on-camera and off-camera, and I think he'd be terrific."

O'Brien is scheduled to take over 'The

Jimmy Fallon may step into Conan's shoes
MSNBC - USA - NEW YORK - When Conan O'Brien steps in to Jay Leno's vacated “Tonight Show” chair in 2009, it appears Jimmy Fallon will make himself at home in Conan's “Late Night” digs.

Fallon, the “Saturday Night Live” alum, is the favorite to take over for Conan, reports Broadcasting & Cable.

“I think he’d be terrific, and he is at the top of our short list,” NBC late-night chief Rick Ludwin told Broadcasting & Cable.

However, Ludwin said he doesn't expect a formal announcement until 2008.

Fallon signed a developmental deal with NBC earlier this year, which included the possibility of replacing Conan, who is scheduled

The seven coolest geeks on television
TV Squad - Santa Monica, CA, USA - Geeks get treated pretty badly in the media. Thanks to the fact that most people who get above-the-line credit in Hollywood are anything but geeky, when a script calls for a socially maladjusted character, it's almost always a terrible caricature of true geek culture. For years little geeklings only had the likes of Steve Urkel to look up to and that's not right (believe me, Jaleel White, when the geek revolution comes, you'll be the first one guillotined).

The fact that I'm about to become the father of my own little geek-spawn has led me to start looking around the current
