In the swirl of 'The View,' a stabilizing force
Boston Globe - United States - On the day Barack Obama came in to gab with the ladies of "The View," Joy Behar was sick. Some-nasty-virus, in-need-of-chicken-soup sick, so sick that she skipped the 11 a.m. live show to stay in bed. But for the Obama episode, taped that afternoon to air the following day, she dragged herself into the ABC studios, arriving backstage with a wan smile.

"Barack cannot go on without me," she declared, before heading to hair and makeup.

Geezers age but never grow old
New York Daily News - New York, NY, USA - Sure enough, it's a good time to be alive these days, especially if you're a geezer. Listen folks, it's not bad being a young shaver either, but the geezer - ah, the geezer - has it really going for him today.

I'm sure you've been reading how the 80 of old is the new 60. They're riddling us with this new perspective in every part of the media. It's like if you've just turned 60, you're actually 40. That's what they've been selling us and I, for one, choose to believe it.

Two weeks ago, Barbara Walters hosted a special on ABC,

Trump's Daughter Turns Down 'The View'
BuddyTV - USA - Now that Rosie O’Donnell is out of the picture, The View is on the look for a new co-host to fill in the vacant spot. Many names have surfaced as a possible replacement, including Mario Cantone, Ross Mathews, and now, Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump.

View creator and host Barbara Walters is hoping to perk up the program’s ratings by inviting Trump’s daughter to join as a regular host. However, the businesswoman turned reality TV star has turned down the chance to replace her father’s foe.

ABC Considers Having A Male Co-Host "The View"
AHN - USA - The fights on "The View" could get an injection of testosterone if Barbara Walters and producers decide to replace Rosie O'Donnell with a man.

So far, the names thrown around are former "Sex And The City" star Mario Cantone, "Tonight Show" correspondent Ross "The Intern" Matthews and celebrity blogger Perez Hilton - real name Mario Lavandeira.

All three men are scheduled to be guest hosts throughout July as a new person with views is found and confirmed.
