Carrie Underwood named new face of Olay |
Business Courier - Country singer Carrie Underwood is the new face of Procter & Gamble’s Olay beauty brand.
The 27-year-old Grammy Award winner was named an Olay ambassador and will represent a line of skin care products for the brand, according to a press release. Terms of the agreement with Underwood were not disclosed.
The campaign, called “Challenge What’s Possible,” will roll out later this year and will ask women to “challenge their own skin’s possibilities with the latest advances in skin care.”
“We are thrilled that someone as inspirational as Carrie has joined Olay,” said Joe Arcuri, vice president for North America, Procter & Gamble Beauty, in a press release. “Carrie epitomizes Olay’s mission to challenge possibilities and encourage a new generation of women to learn about skin care and make a noticeable impact on their skin’s appearance.”
Olay will sponsor Underwood’s “Play On Tour” this fall with shows in cities throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Olay’s other ambassadors include actress Maggie Cheung in China, singer and actress Lucero in Latin America, and actress Thandie Newton in the United Kingdom.
The announcement comes on the same day a P&G executive speaking at an investors conference in Boston said the company expects to expand the Olay brand to 15 new markets this year. The Associated Press reported that P&G will offer Olay in 100 markets in two years, up from 69 currently.
In addition to Olay, Cincinnati-based P&G (NYSE: PG) is the parent of brands like Tide, Crest, Pampers and Downy.
