Brooke Shields Balances Work and Family On-Screen and Off |
TheCelebrityCafe.com - Valley Stream, NY, USA - Actress is a working mother in real life and in new role.
On Thursday, actress Brooke Shields told Today show co-host Meredith Vieira a story about her 4-year-old daughter, Rowan. According to MSNBC, Shields told Vieira that while filming a scene as Hannah Montana’s deceased mother with teen star Miley Cyrus, “[Rowan] was in the audience and I hugged Miley and I say, ‘It’s all right, Baby Girl, you’re going to be all right.' Well, I call my daughter ‘Baby Girl.’ And Rowan stood up in the middle of the audience and said, ‘No, she’s my momma for real life.’”
It was being a mother in real life that nearly prevented Shields from being able to work in the new series Lipstick Jungle, in which Shields plays a busy movie executive juggling work and family and finding comfort from her two best friends. The actress said she loved the characters and had planned to meet with NBC when the script was ready. She then became pregnant with her second daughter, Grier, in 2006 and was resigned to “being a fan” of the show. But then Lipstick Jungle went through a rewrite, and Shields was able to play a working mom on TV after all, as well as be one in real life.
